Jane Dauphinee |

Principal, Senior Planner

Jane Dauphinee, a recognized member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Alberta Professional Planners Institute, joined Municipal Planning Services (Alberta) Ltd. in 2005. She is now the principal and senior planner of Municipal Planning Services (2009) Ltd. Born in High River and raised in Okotoks and Banff Alberta, Jane is committed to making small communities viable and sustainable places to live. She holds a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters degree in Planning from Dalhousie University. Jane's particular strengths include: policy analysis, strategic planning, public consultation and capacity building.

Jane's experience includes preparing and revising area structure plans, integrated community sustainability plans, watershed plans, municipal development plans, land use bylaws and inter-municipal development plans, as well as the assessment of subdivision applications. She has also provided onsite planning assistance to municipalities developing or restructuring planning and development departments.

James Haney | RPP, MCIP

Senior Planner

James has worked in both current and long-range planning with a wide variety of urban and rural communities throughout the Edmonton region. His diverse professional experience includes statutory plan preparation, redevelopment planning and heritage conservation planning. 

A graduate of Dalhousie University’s Master of Planning Program, James has developed skill sets through both academic and professional work in comprehensive planning, site analysis, policy development, design and community engagement.

James’ diverse skillset and experiences allow him to contribute in any role he is needed for on a project.

Shelly Barrett

Office Administrator

Shelly Barrett has been working with Municipal Planning Services for over 22 years and is one of the office's greatest assets. Shelly provides front line assistance to clients with subdivision processing questions and is responsible for administration of the MPS office. Shelly is responsible for data entry and management as well as the maintenance and tracking of subdivision files.

Brad MacDonald |

RPP, MCIP

Senior Planner

Brad MacDonald joined Municipal Planning Services in 2011. He holds a Masters in Planning from Dalhousie University and has been working as a professional planner in Alberta since 2007. Brad’s ongoing and previous work experiences has provided him with expertise in: site planning, meeting facilitation, project management, policy review and analysis. Brad also brings to the company a strong understanding of economic factors which influence the successful outcome of development projects in Alberta.
